Contract Manager – Groundworks & Civils

Location: Essex
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
Type: Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join an established Groundworks & Civils team, overseeing projects from pre-construction through to completion.

This is a key management position responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of multiple projects, working closely with clients, subcontractors, site teams and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects across programme, cost, quality, health & safety and client satisfaction

• Plan, programme and monitor projects from commencement to completion

• Manage site teams, subcontractors and suppliers

• Monitor project costs, variations, budgets and commercial performance

• Attend tender handovers and pre-start meetings

• Manage procurement and material reconciliation

• Monitor and maintain high H&S and environmental standards

• Build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors

• Identify and manage project risks and resolve issues effectively

• Provide regular progress and commercial reports to senior management

About You

• 10+ years' construction experience, ideally within Groundworks & Civils

• Strong understanding of construction processes, H&S legislation and industry best practice

• Experience managing multiple projects and teams

• Strong commercial awareness and organisational skills

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

• Black CSCS or CCDO

• SMSTS

• First Aid at Work

• A BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management or a HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying (including an industrial placement)
