The Opportunity
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of a £15 million commercial and residential development in Maidstone, Kent.
The project includes an extension to an existing building, the fit-out of 80 high-spec apartments, and a floor of modern commercial space. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious construction professional to work with a respected main contractor on a flagship scheme in the South East.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Site Manager in overseeing daily site operations.
- Coordinate subcontractors and trades to ensure smooth workflow and high standards.
- Monitor site health & safety and maintain compliance (SSSTS required).
- Assist with quality checks, snagging, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Help with site documentation, progress reporting, and material coordination.
- Liaise with design and project teams to support effective communication on site.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Site Supervisor, or Trainee Site Manager.
- Experience on residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects (ideally £5m+).
- Strong understanding of construction processes and fit-out stages.
- Background with a main contractor or developer preferred.
- Valid SSSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proactive attitude.
